Happy Holidays!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of our friends and family! We hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas and that you are busy making some New Year's Resolutions! We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at home in our traditional outfits for Christams -- our PJ's! The girls loved opening their presents and were thrilled with everything that Santa brought! Grandma and Grandpa Hawkins sent electronic Monopoly and we spent lots of time playing that awesome game! Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for that fun game! Kaitlin got Guitar Hero and we are all addicted to it!! Joe wants to quit his job and become a rock star. I told him NOT to quit his day job. Cami is loving all of her new Webkins -- she has quite the collection of little animals now. We hope everyone has a great New Years!

My Class Mural!!

Do not try this at home!

December 22,2007

Well, it's almost Christmas and the girls are in a FRENZY to open their gifts! We have been very busy this month! Cami performed in the school Nutcracker as a waltzer and to to dance with her Daddy at the end! Kaitlin sang twice with her middle school choir for different events and she had a gymnastics meet in Baton Rouge! She did a great job and placed on several events! We are very proud of both girls! I have been busy at school just counting down the days! I kept my students busy making an 8 foot long mural of snowmen out of torn paper. See the picture below! Joe is just busy!! We are all so excited to have a couple of weeks to just rest!

Happy November!! We only have two weeks of school until our Thanksgiving Break!!! I am so excited. We had the best time for Halloween last night. Our friends, The Avery's, invited the neighborhood over for dinner and then 14 children went trick or treating together! The sad thing for the children is that all of the mothers except for 1 is a teacher and we required order! Kaitlin's old 4th grade teacher took charge and brought everyone to order. We traveled in a line and no one got hurt or injured! I'm sure the kids will all remember the year they trick or treated with a bunch of school teachers IN A LINE! It was so fun. Cami was Scarlett O' Hara and Kaitlin was orange. Many people thought she was the person from the new Wendy's commercial. Next year we can cut off the stem and she can be Wendy! Hope everyone is doing well!

Hey Everyone!
We have been so busy that I haven't stopped to update our blog! As you can see below, Cami made the A Honor Roll for 3rd grade by making straight A's! Kaitlin made the A/B Honor Roll with only 1 B. She didn't want me to take her picture though since she is sooo cool! I can't believe that Halloween is only a week away. The girls got their costumes this weekend. Kaitlin is going to be a groovy pumpkin and Cami is going to be Scarlett O'Hara! Hat and all! I will post pics next week. It should be fun.
We have been busy helping Kaitlin with her Science Fair Project which has been a PROJECT! We haven't even started the experiment and Joe is already tired of it. Cami made a great pumpkin that looked like a cat and entered it in the school contest. I will post a pic as soon as she brings it home.
Today was our first "cold" day. It was great except for the wind that blew right through you. I finally got to wear some winter clothes. Kaitlin made us some great chili for dinner which was so nice! I think she needs to make chili on a weekly basis.
We are getting ready to start the gymnastics season. Kaitlin's first meet is in Lafayette, LA in two weeks. Her team performed at the Red River Revel a few weeks ago. Joe and I are excited because we will get to eat some of that great food from down south. Check back next week for Halloween pics!

October 2nd 2007

Hope this finds everyone well! We are about ready to get report cards at school which means that the year is 1/4 over! It has gone very quickly and we know that the Holidays will be here very soon! Cami was busy this weekend going from one birthday party to another! I'm sure she had fun. Kaitlin had some friends spend the night on Friday and wanted to go to the Haunted Corn Maize but it wasn't open yet. But it's open this weekend so I guess I will have to be brave and take them now! The girls are getting excited thinking about what they want to be for Halloween. Cami thinks she wants to be a "cute" pirate and Kaitlin wants to be Bat Girl. I better get busy sewing! Have a great week!
Love,
The Hawkins
